Rule #1: Everything is negotiable! A recent article on realestate.com.au provided some great insights into the art of negotiation.

However, we'll begin by adding one key negotiation tip that they DIDN'T include: Use a professional negotiator.

Real estate agents ARE professional negotiators. They are trained to negotiate the highest price for the seller. Real estate agents deal with selling property every day.

Why would you consider negotiating against a professional negotiator?

Buyers Home Base are highly skilled property negotiators who used to be Real Estate Agents. Our real estate negotiation skills can save you thousands. With skilled questions and disciplined suggestions, we level the playing field for you. When buying a house, there's more to negotiate than price. Settlement terms, conditions and inclusions can be negotiated on your behalf.

Prior to the establishment of the specialist
first home buyer Buyers Advocacy business, Buyers Home Base, most First Home Buyers could not afford the luxury of having a professional negotiator on their side.

With the minimum
Buyers Advocates fee of $7,000, most First Home Buyers were left out in the cold to identify a property & negotiate for themselves. Buyers Home Base changes all that with a low Flat Fee of $3,000 (NOTE: This fee is subject to change - Please refer to our current Buyers Advocacy Fees page for our current low, flat fees for first home buyers).

By using a
professional negotiator, you’ll never be left wondering “Did I pay too much for this property?"

Understand negotiation is a process

Acknowledging the reality that negotiation is a two-way street can help make the process less daunting.
Putting yourself in the seller’s shoes can help you work out how to best play your hand. For example, why is the vendor selling? And how can you present the case around your offer, and best time it for a successful outcome?

Know the market

What you’re willing to pay for the property is only part of the equation.
Make sure you research current, comparable sale prices for similar homes in the same area before putting in an offer or bidding at auction.

Be confident

Put any fears and any negativity to the side. A confident, positive attitude is key in any kind of negotiation.
